"Časopis za kritiko znanosti" / Cover and back illustration
The illustrations based on the texts of the new issue of "ČKZ" magazine try to establish the awareness of the inevitability of social change in the coming decades on a symbolic level. The motif that dominates both illustrations is the tarot card of death. It is one of the most unpleasant cards in the entire tarot, but also one of the most powerful in terms of the promise of a new beginning.
The front cover symbolizes the present. A white man without a head (patriarchal society), guided by the "values" of the free market, leaves residues behind - hunger, the impossibility of a dignified life, war, homeless people, destroyed ecosystem ...
The illustration on the back, on the other side, communicates the "new society". A woman without a flag (ideology) and a rhizome (interdependence of all living beings, ideas and relationships) are two symbols that, in the case of a concrete illustration, define this more humane social order.
